Rich’s earliest memories are surrounded by music. Son of an aspiring opera singer, his earliest memories are centered around his mother singing in church choir, acting in community theater and the like. He spent much of his childhood in piano and trumpet lessons, children’s choir, concert and marching band and also acting in plays. In his early twenties Rich taught himself guitar and began to perform in coffee houses. Inspired by the music he heard from fellow songwriters, Rich picked up the pen and began to dabble in writing. Fast forward to the millennium, Rich was living in the UK on business and performing with local musicians. The desire for their own material led Rich to delving even deeper into songwriting. Rich found Nashville Songwriters in 2005 and set his sights on becoming a professional writer. Upon Rich’s return to the U.S. he began to make trips to Nashville with the hopes of realizing his dream of hearing his songs on the radio. In 2008 Rich signed with Brightwater Publishing and in 2012, Rich signed his second publishing deal with Justin Peters and Songs for the Planet.
Through songwriting Rich has performed at country music festivals in Portugal, in venues throughout Northern England. His songs have been used in projects in the UK, and recently a production company creating shows for CMT has requested use of a song he co-wrote, “Whole Lotta Beer” for two different tv shows. Rich will be recording a collection of his own songs for release in summer of 2013.
