Holiday Ales

We've been busy little elves brewing up our Holiday Ales and Winter Seasonal.  This year we introduce the "Ghost in the Graveyard"; a dark roasted ale with German malts, a touch of wheat and orange blossom honey.  This beer also gets spiced with a special blend of nutmeg, cardamon, clove, cinnamon sticks, orange peels and some other trade secret spices.  As if that wasn't enough, once fermentation is underway we pump in fresh blueberries.  This beer is a lot of fun to make and is the perfect holiday ale.

Special Spices before I pound them into a pulp

AND YES...Laydown Stay Down is coming out too!  But this year we are stepping it up a notch and putting this fine beer into bottles for sale individually, in 6-packs and in variety cases.  This local favorite is our Winter seasonal Belgium Strong Ale brewed with sweet malts, candi sugar and spicy/earthy hops making it one of our highest ABV beers.  Don't Laydown unless you want to Stay Down!  Both beers should be out by the end of the week.  Here's some cool pictures of us brewing your Holiday Ales.

Dark Horse and Sour Peaches

We are coming out with two new beers: the Dark Horse Dunkelweissen and Sour Peaches.  Check out some of our pictures.

The Dark Horse is on tap TODAY and is a dark German wheat beer with flavors and aromas of roasted chocolate, banana, spice and everything nice.

The Sour Peach is a new beer that we created by blending 1/3 Lone Solider Sour with 2/3 Peach  Lager.  This beer was inspired and is dedicated to our local customers.  People are always mixing beers at the Stube and this one came out great; so we mixed it up for you.  We are letting it lager and she should be ready in about a week.  Cheers

Gobble Gobble

First bottle to make it into the brewery

Roy Pitz just bottled Gobbler Lager today! We are excited to continue to expand our bottled products to give you more variety throughout the year.  This beer is our first of four seasonals (including Lovitz Watermelon, Honey Sucker Pilsner and Lay Down Stay Down) to be bottled in 12 oz bottles.  Throughout the different seasons we will offer a new style in our variety cases or you can always pick up individual bottles, cases and 6 packs at the Stube.  Be sure to stop by and pick up Gobbler Lager for your Fall drinking needs.  This is also the ideal beer for Thanksgiving dinner...gobble gobble.

Weyermann is the best grain in the world!  Check out that dark chocolate malt!

AND NEW BEERS TO FILL THEM

We are happy to announce that it's almost pumpkin time.  AND while that is an exciting announcement we also don't want summer to be over yet.  So as promised in a previous brewers blog we are almost ready to serve our Chambersburg Peach Lager as well.  Thanks to Hauser Winery for pressing local Chambersburg peaches for us in their apple press.  This amazing juice infuses the beer and gives a cider aroma and a sweet peachy undertone in our refreshing light German lager.   Come enjoy it before it starts getting cold outside!

Kicking up the aroma with the pumpkin spices...YUM

That pumpkin is TOUGH to shovel out.  See the orange spots? Click me if you don't and I'll get bigger.

Ichabod Crane's Midnight Ride will be available very soon as well.  This is our Belgian Style Pumpkin Ale that has a balance of ingredients including malted barley, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, REAL pumpkin, caramelized brown sugar and a spicy phenolic yeast.  We are excited to bring back this fan favorite.  We will see you at the Stube.

Melons, Berries, Beers and Brewers

Roy Pitz continues to try to meet the demand of our mouthwatering fruit beers.  Summer has been flying by and believe it or not we are on to our FINAL batch of Lovitz Watermelon Lager.  Get it while you still can and make sure to grab a growler fill so you'll still have some even when we don't!! Also keep an eye out for our Schnozeberry Lager which is another Helles Style German Lager that we infuse with fresh blueberries and fresh lemon zest.  Staying true to our processes and beliefs we continue to use 100% real fruit with each brew.  Our light and refreshing German style lagers pick up a subtle sweetness which goes down smooth helping you celebrate summer.

Cheers.

Batch 500

Roy Pitz Brewing Co is happy to announce that we just finished up our 500th batch of beer.  That's a lot of booze.  It's only appropriate that the batch we brewed was Daddy Fat Sacks, our flagship American IPA. We continue to experiment with dry hop techniques for a strong aroma and clean finish; we're really excited about this batch.  Come visit the Stube and try #500

Philly Beer Week

Prime Stache

Prime Stache

Wrap Shack

Wrap Shack

June 8th marked the end of Philly Beer week and thank goodness for that.  There was a lot of back and forth with cars and trains from Chambersburg to Philadelphia and back.  It was a tiring week and we worked a lot of hours but we enjoyed every minute of it.  Roy Pitz had a great time at several events including the Navy Yard Beer Fest, and tap takeovers at Prime Stache, Wrap Shack and Grey Lodge.  Thanks to all the bars and events for your support.

Roy Pitz would also like to thank all of our friends in Philly who helped out with events, spent time with us, and gave us a bed to sleep on.  You guys are the best.
